In close partnership with Perkins + Will and our high-profile technology client, our Creative Studio team helped create a local vibe for the company’s new Southeast sales hub in the heart of Atlanta. Upon entering the Project Varsity space, you are immediately greeted with a mix of interactive, fun, and vintage design elements, with an emphasis on music and the story of Atlanta’s musical history. This theme flows into every area throughout the remainder of the building.

With a desire to reflect the local Atlanta culture through innovative murals, unique accessories, and branded space design, our team was instrumental in ensuring the space embraced the city’s culture and meaning. Amidst many challenges during the pandemic, we organized a virtual sit test and overnighted fabric samples to allow the project team to make product decisions when in-person meetings were impossible. We scheduled 20+ in-person shopping trips with P+W to select vintage, one-of-a-kind accessories to help give the Project Varsity Atlanta office its local style and flair. These bespoke pieces served as story-telling elements that helped bring our client’s vision to life.

Numerous manufacturers were highlighted in the space, including Steelcase, West Elm Work, Carl Hansen & Sons, Cassina, Four Hands, OW seating, Grand Rapids Chair, Kartell, Noir, Moooi, Flos, Bernhardt, Blu Dot, Interface, Bla Station, Arteriors, Flor, Coalesse, Keilhauer, OFS, Scandinavian Spaces, Nuans, and Andreu World. IIDA Georgia awarded this iconic space a Best of the Best honor in 2023.

An online leader in providing health information, WebMD was looking to increase employee interaction and encourage collaboration. Moving to a new space, their goal was to create an environment with an open plan accompanied with various breakout stations. This two-floor build included over 600 workstations, 35 private offices, 10 collaborative spaces, a fitness center, two cafe spaces and a coffee bar.

Empire, alongside Gensler, created a fun, colorful, two-story workspace at 1 World Trade Center for this multi-platform gaming and technology company. The space features multiple “studio” workspaces as well as workstations and collaborative areas. The space also offers more natural light and colorful accents to encourage creativity. Empire helped procure furniture to fit the aesthetic design while adhering to budget constraints.

An innovator in the health-technology industry, Modernizing Medicine fittingly chose the Boca Raton Innovation Campus as the site of its new HQ. Together, Gensler and Empire Office designed and furnished this on-going phased project to reflect the company’s creative and fun culture. Empire provided all of the ancillary furniture and task seating for this 2-floor open plan office, incorporating the company’s bold brand colors. The office won ‘Best Large Corporate Project’ at the IIDA South Florida Chapter’s 2019 Bragg Awards.

The Penny Hoarder, one of the largest financial advice websites in the world, hired Empire Office to furnish the company’s 18,000 sf office in St. Petersburg, FL. A variety of furniture pieces, sound masking technology and art features were selected for the private offices, workstations, company lounge, reception and a variety of open collaborative spaces. The Tampa Bay Business Journal awarded The Penny Hoarder “Coolest Office Space” in 2018.

IHS Markit, a global financial information and services company, decided to make the move to the west side of Manhattan at Hudson Yards. With the desire to create a more open and collaborative environment, Empire worked with Markit and its design firm to create an open plan benching concept with neighborhoods of private offices and conference rooms. The space also featured a full café and bright game room, as well as generous ancillary spaces for employees to connect with one another.
